We are officially hiring for a new role: Senior Policy and Public Affairs Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team!

Over the past 4 years, we have been campaigning for the legal protection and humane treatment of animals like crabs, lobsters, prawns, and langoustine (decapod crustaceans). This has involved a public petition, two open letters, two events in Westminster, and numerous supporter actions. The government listened, and in response commissioned an independent review of decapod sentience. The outcome of this important work is due for release in the coming months.

This has coincided with the announcement of the Animal Welfare (Sentience) Bill. This bill will legally recognise which animals are capable of feeling pain, and thus which are of most relevance when updating and developing animal welfare legislation. It is crucial that decapods are included in this bill.

In light of this busy and exciting time, we are looking for a creative, experienced and dedicated individual to join our team and help us deliver our award-winning campaign and gain legal protection and humane treatment for decapods crustaceans. The protection of these animals would change animal welfare history.
