WELCOME TO THE CHILDREN'S CORNER OF CRUSTACEAN COMPASSION!

Hey there! I'm Henry the Hermit Crab and I want to welcome you to Crustacean Compassion's Children's Corner - where we can learn, explore and care for crustacean, animals like me and my friends. I can't wait to show you around!

First of all, what do you know about decapod crustaceans? Did you know that is the name for a group of animals, like crabs, lobsters and prawns? Perhaps you know we can live in the sea, and pinch things with our claws. You might have seen us on Octonauts, or even The Little Mermaid.

Many people are surprised we feel pain. Perhaps if everyone knew this, we wouldn't be cooked in ways that hurt - like being put into a boiling hot pain of water - ouch! There are better ways to treat us though, and that's where Crustacean Compassion comes in.

Crustacean Compassion is an animal welfare organisation that helps crabs like me and my friends.

They also help lobsters, shrimp, prawns and all types of decapod crustaceans. They help protect our homes and save us from pollution, and help to protect us in the food industry, saving us from harmful fishing and cooking practices.

Put simply, they believe we should be treated with compassion - like every other living thing!

Thanks for listening!
